About Us
My name is Bob Bell, and I began preparing taxes in 2006 at a large tax preparation franchise. Having a passion for numbers and investing, tax preparation came naturally. Within a couple of years, I secured a sizable client base mostly because of referrals. In 2012, I ended my employment with the franchise and began preparing taxes independently. I continually enroll in yearly tax refresher courses, and I am also recognized by the IRS as an Annual Filing Season Program Participant (AFSP). “An AFSP is a voluntary program that recognizes the efforts of return preparers who are generally not attorneys, certified public accountants, or enrolled agents. The IRS issues an Annual Filing Season Program Record of Completion to return preparers who obtain a certain number of continuing education hours in preparation for a specific tax year (irs.gov).”
My client base grew quickly and continues to grow (13.1% in 2021 and 18.2% in 2023, respectively). 99% of the clients that I have retained are from referrals. I have experience purchasing into a franchise, being a landlord, and being an entrepreneur. My experience has given me a firsthand knowledge on how taxes can be impact small businesses.
My future consists of retiring from my current full-time position as a New Jersey Transit bus operator and beginning an encore career as a financial consultant or advisor. I am only a few classes away from completing a bachelor’s degree in personal finance in addition to an Enrolled Agent (EA) designation to my credentials. “Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years (irs.gov).”
